Dr. Martin Marty, well-known and highly respected theologian has written the liturgy for One Joyful Choir and will read it at the afternoon presentation. Marty, who has authored more than 50 books, has taught in the divinity school, the department of history, and served on the Committee on the History of Culture at the University of Chicago. Marty is an ordained minister and served for a decade in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America before joining the University of Chicago faculty in 1963. The recipient of numerous awards and honors, he is currently the George B. Caldwell Senior Scholar in Residence of the Park Ridge Center for the Study of Health, Faith, and Ethics in Park Ridge, Ill.
